ALMA VENN Cycle Privacy Policy

ALMA VENN Cycle is a free, ad-free, account-free, device-first application for cycle and health recordkeeping and general wellness. This policy explains what the app handles and what the application provider does not receive.

Educational and general wellness purpose

ALMA VENN Cycle is for personal cycle and health recordkeeping and general wellness. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

The app does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It does not confirm ovulation, fertile days, pregnancy, or contraception. Calendar ranges and any enabled observations may be incomplete or wrong. Do not use the app as birth control or as the only basis for a medical decision. Ask a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

ALMA VENN is not an emergency service. It does not monitor entries, infer urgency, contact healthcare professionals, or call emergency services. Use the emergency and health services available where you are when immediate help is needed.

Information handled on the device

The installed app can hold information you choose to enter or restore, including period starts, bleeding, symptoms, pain severity, mood, sleep, energy, local reminders, and privacy settings. When an older development backup is restored, compatible cycle facts are migrated into the focused record format; retired prototype fields are discarded.

The app uses the phone's date, time, and time zone locally to display dates and schedule user-requested reminders. The application provider does not receive this information.

The installed mobile app stores app records in a local encrypted data vault. The browser development preview holds entries only in volatile memory; preview entries disappear when the page reloads and the preview is not approved for personal health information.

Collection, use, sale, and sharing

The application provider does not receive, collect, sell, rent, share, analyze, or advertise against information entered or restored in ALMA VENN. The app has no user account or sign-in, cloud health database, automatic remote backup, analytics, advertising, tracking pixel, remote logging, crash-reporting SDK, or push-notification server.

Local information is used on the device only for check-ins, calendar history, locally calculated features enabled for the release, reminders, privacy controls, encrypted backup and restore, and deletion.

Public policy website

Opening this policy is a deliberate external action. The app opens a plain HTTPS address without cycle records, backup data, or app identifiers in the address. The website host necessarily receives ordinary request information such as the visitor's IP address, browser or device information, and request time. This does not give the website access to records stored inside ALMA VENN.

This interim policy page is hosted on the ALMA VENN Shopify storefront. Shopify and enabled storefront integrations may process ordinary website, cookie, and interaction information under the storefront's privacy choices. Those website services are separate from the installed app and do not receive app records through the policy link.

Phone permissions and services

The current release does not request access to Apple Health, Android Health Connect, the photo library, camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

  • Local notifications: schedule a dated reminder on the device. ALMA VENN does not request a push token.
  • Device authentication: support optional app lock and confirmation of sensitive actions. ALMA VENN does not receive biometric data.
  • Screen protection: conceal app-switcher previews and restrict capture where the operating system supports it.
  • File picker and share sheet: let the user deliberately choose an encrypted backup file or its destination.

Encrypted backup and restore

An encrypted backup is created only when the user asks for one and provides a backup password. ALMA VENN does not receive the file or password and cannot recover a forgotten password. A file provider or destination selected by the user may retain or synchronize the encrypted file under its own policy. Restoring a validated backup replaces the current local records; it does not merge them.

Retention, correction, and deletion

Information remains in the installed app until the user updates a saved check-in, restores a replacement backup, deletes all app data, or removes the app. The application provider has no server copy and cannot view, correct, delete, or recover local records.

Removing the app or losing the device may permanently remove information that has not been saved in an accessible encrypted backup. Browser preview information disappears when the page reloads.

Security

The installed app encrypts its SQLite database at rest using SQLCipher and protects the database key with operating-system secure storage. Android backup is disabled. Optional app lock, sensitive-action authentication, and screen protection add device-level safeguards. Encrypted backup files depend on the strength and secrecy of the password chosen by the user.

No software, device, encryption system, or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Children

ALMA VENN Cycle is a general wellness and personal-recordkeeping tool and is not directed to children under 13. It does not create accounts or knowingly collect children's information on an application-provider-controlled service.
